Welsh Schools' F. A. - Primary 5s

The Welsh Schools' F. A. is extremely pleased to announce that the long awaited Primary 5s Festivals registration of interest is now open. If you would like your school to be part of this exciting programme of Festivals across the whole of Wales, please sign up today!

Who?

Any school in Wales is entitled to sign up and participate. Our aim is to increase the opportunities and improve the structure of Inter School football across Wales so that there are more children being active and enjoying sport.

Why?

The Welsh Schools Football Association is the governing body of all schools football across Wales. Traditionally we have overseen and delivered countless opportunities for schools to participate in National festivals and competitions. Thanks to the support of the Tesco Bags of Help grant scheme, we  now have the funding to focus on Primary School football.

What?

We will be running 5 a-side festivals across Wales for schools to participate in at Local, Regional and National level. Please see the information below for more details about the different areas. Festivals will be played at numerous venues across Wales over a 2 hour period. Opportunties will be made available to schools to participate in either a Large (120+ on roll at KS2) or Small Schools (-120 on roll at KS2) option of the festival.

Festivals will be either for Mixed teams or Girls only. Squads of 8 are allowed with roll on / roll off substitues. Games will be played on a round robin Pool basis. Where possible pools will be limited to 4 teams subject to the number of entries.

Where?

The area Associations have been allocated to either the North, East or West Wales Region. Each Region will host Local area Association events, subject to funding and entries. Associations will then nominate Schools to represent them at the Regional Festival. Schools will be invited to the National Festival which will be held in July following their participation in the Regional Festivals.

When?

Local festivals will be held in May or ealry June. Regional Festivals will be held towards the end of June and the National Festival will be held in Newtown on the 12th July.

All details will be confirmed once the registration process has closed. All schools will be emailed direct with a national Festival Information Pack.
